Mit seinen Alben "Consequences", "Don't Fight The Inevitable" und "The Age We Live In" hat der 27jährige, aus England stammende und seit 2006 in NYC lebende Pianist auf sich aufmerksam gemacht. In der Unterfahrt wurde er schon 2010 mit seiner eigenen Band (mit Ambrose Akinmusire, David Binney, Matt Brewer und Nasheet Waits) und in 2011 im Quartet von Antonio Sanchez bewundert. Sein Klavierspiel und seine Kompositionen sind komplex, raffiniert, manchnmal sogar urgewaltig, schweben zwischen romantischer Poesie und explodierendem Free Jazz.
